Paraffin Wax Solution

Product Overview

Paraffin wax solution is a surface additive used in unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins, particularly in air-inhibited open-mould applications. It is typically a blend of refined paraffin wax dissolved in styrene monomer or a similar reactive solvent. The wax rises to the surface during curing, forming a thin, oxygen-resistant layer that prevents air inhibition, thereby ensuring complete surface cure.

• Tack-free Finish: Eliminates surface stickiness in final resin or gelcoat layers by shielding them from oxygen.

• Secondary Processing Ready: Provides a cured surface that is easier to sand, bond, or coat after curing.

• Final layers in gelcoat systems to seal open moulds

• Last resin coat in laminate schedules (before sanding or painting)

• Wax Content: ~2–5% by weight

• Store in a cool, dry area below 30°C

• Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames
