Our Insulated Flexible Duct is a high-efficiency air distribution solution for modern HVAC systems, combining robust flexibility with thermal and acoustic insulation performance. Built to withstand NZ’s diverse climatic demands, this duct is ideal for both residential and commercial ventilation systems where energy efficiency, condensation control, and reduced noise are critical.
Available Sizes: 4", 6", 8", 10", 12" | Length: 25 ft (7.6 m)
Product Construction
Inner Core: Spiral-wound, flexible aluminium duct reinforced with high-tensile steel wire helix
Insulation Layer: Thick blanket of glass wool (mineral wool) or polyester insulation, typically 25–50 mm depending on variant
Outer Jacket: Reinforced aluminium/PET laminated foil for vapour sealing and mechanical protection
Thermal & Acoustic Benefits
Thermal Insulation
R-values up to R1.0 achievable depending on thickness and configuration
Reduces heat gain/loss in air-conditioned or heated air systems
Acoustic Damping
Absorbs fan noise and reduces sound transmission through duct lines
Particularly useful in return air or ceiling plenums in offices and apartments
Fire & Safety Compliance
Fire-Retardant Materials:
Complies with AS/NZS 1530.3:
Ignitability Index: 0
Spread of Flame: 0–2
Smoke Developed: ≤5
Fibre insulation is non-combustible, maintaining system safety in ceiling spaces
Vapour Barrier Protection:
Outer foil wrap resists moisture ingress and mould growth
Prevents condensation on cold air ducts and degradation of insulation
Typical Applications
Supply and return air systems in split, ducted, and VRV/VRF air conditioning systems
Commercial HVAC in offices, malls, and hospitality sectors
Roof cavity air delivery systems in residential homes
Retrofit projects requiring flexible yet insulated duct paths
