Product Overview
Rockwool Slabs are high-performance mineral wool insulation boards made from natural volcanic basalt rock, engineered to deliver exceptional fire resistance, thermal insulation, and acoustic control. Designed for safety-critical environments, these slabs are non-combustible, dimensionally stable, and moisture-resistant — making them ideal for applications where both fire protection and energy efficiency are essential.
Fire Resistance (FRR up to 4 hours)
Certified to AS 1530.1 and EN 13501-1, Rockwool Slabs are non-combustible (Euroclass A1) and provide passive fire protection for up to 240 minutes. Commonly used to create fire-rated wall partitions, enclosures, and mechanical service areas.
Thermal Insulation
Thermal conductivity typically ranges between 0.033 – 0.037 W/m·K, delivering high energy efficiency in building envelopes. Helps reduce HVAC loads and maintain thermal comfort year-round.
Acoustic Performance
Due to its dense, open-fibre structure, Rockwool is widely used as an acoustic absorber. Reduces noise transmission in walls, floors, ceilings, and ducting systems – achieving high NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) values.
Water Repellency & Breathability
Rockwool is hydrophobic — it does not absorb water, but it permits vapour diffusion, helping prevent mould growth or internal condensation.
Durability & Dimensional Stability
Maintains shape and structure even under heat, compression, or moisture exposure. Suitable for exposed or concealed use.
Sustainable & Safe
Made from up to 97% natural stone, recyclable, and free from ozone-depleting substances. Non-itch, low-VOC, and safe to handle.
