Our Direct Roving is composed of continuous E‑CR or R‑glass filaments, bonded into single strands and wound onto bobbins for easy handling. These rovings are backed by 3B’s proprietary sizing that ensures excellent resin-to-glass bonding in various composite processes.
Ease of processing: Maximum flexibility on workshops and less inventory
High-speed impregnation: Ideal for pultrusion and filament winding setups
Superior corrosion resistance: Made from boron-free Advantex® (E‑CR) glass, engineered to resist aggressive environments
Multi-resin compatibility: Works well with polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, and polyurethane resins
Fire and insulation qualities: Offers “high resistance to fire propagation” and strong insulation properties
Glass Type: E‑CR (Advantex®) glass (ASTM D578 / ISO 2078 compliant)
Sizing: Proprietary silane-based sizing for strong resin adhesion
SE 1010 – Designed for pultrusion; provides “2200–2500 MPa tensile strength and 81 GPa modulus” with ≤0.20% moisture
R25H – Suited to filament winding and drinking water pipe production; offers high heat resistance and is potable-water approved
SE 2020 / SE 3030 – Optimised for epoxy systems, ideal for prepreg, pultrusion, filament winding, and non-crimp fabric production; excellent fatigue and shear performance.
Filament winding – production of pipes, tanks, poles (continuous or discontinuous strands)
Pultrusion – ideal for high fibre content structural profiles
Weaving/knitting – used in production of woven rovings, non-crimp fabrics & prepregs
Environmentally friendly glass – boron-free E‑CR glass eliminates fluoride and boron pollutants
Certified for potable water – e.g., R25H meets drinking water standards
Thermal Stability: Delivers consistent performance in high-heat and flame-sensitive applications
